I'll Take Care Of You!

Charlotte wasn't feeling well when I picked her up from daycare the other day so the first thing we did when we got home was head straight to the rocking chair in our living room. I sat Charlotte in my lap and held her close. I love comforting my babies when they don't feel well. I sat and listened.

Oh Charlotte!

I just love this age and really want to document parts of it so I don't forget.

It's In The Little Things!

Sleeping Morgan...
Awhile back, when I picked up Morgan after school, she was wearing this flower headband she had made. I thought she looked beautiful! My little flower child.

Charlotte watching another dance class while waiting for hers to begin.

If I had a favorite flower, I think it'd be Tulips.
Notice the bird in the hanging flower basket? One day we walked out and noticed the bird hanging out in there. We were surprised that it wouldn't fly away even when we were standing right next to it like Morgan is below. I thought for sure it would fly away when Maggie ran around out there but it didn't. My nephew looked and discovered an egg which explained the bird's reluctance to fly the coop! I was impressed with her bravery in order to be a good momma.
Next thing we knew, there were two little baby birds. I actually got to witness one of them hatching from the egg. The momma even grabbed onto the shell with her beak to help her baby break free. We have our own little nature channel action going on right outside our back door!
I was so impressed with the snack Daniel made for the girls recently.
When Morgan saw the colors, it inspired her to take it up a notch and design a flower. Love that girl's creativity!
It took awhile for the girls to get through their Easter candy.

Zoo With Grandma!

While Grandma Linda was out for her yearly visit, I caught Maggie waiting patiently for her to come out of her room.
The girls and I took Linda to the zoo!

This goat really liked Linda and followed her around.
I think Charlotte is brushing it's tail!

Morgan finally has long enough arms to reach in and touch a Stingray!

Right before we left for the day, we got a bit of a treat. While viewing the tortoise exhibit, we saw two peacocks with their feathers completely spread out. After questioning a zoo keeper we were told that both peacocks often try to impress the emu in hopes of mating with it. When the emu would get close, they would shake their feathers and dance a little. It was pretty cool to watch this interaction so closely.
Between the time spent with Grandma, feeding giraffes, watching the bird show, touching Stingrays and eating ice cream, we had a really great day!

Rodeo Dance!

Morgan had a mother-daughter dance at her school. I love how excited this little one gets about every event her school holds. Her face will light up and she'll proudly give me a paper she received at school explaining whatever event is going on at the time.
This one was a rodeo dance. I managed to look through her closet and scrounge together the below outfit. I know we live in California but our city is known for it's cowboy culture. There's a lot of agriculture here and our city hosts a big rodeo every year. We've been to the rodeo parade and it's pretty fun.
I was pretty impressed because for $5 a ticket, we got dinner, a picture and of course the fun of the dance! Morgan and I had such a great time! I feel so privileged to be her momma and get to do this kind of stuff with her!
She was so cute in every one of the below pictures that I couldn't pick just one to post.

Look how adorable she is with her friends!
Morgan of course had a blast! She's very social and loves being with kids her own age. I wasn't surprised when I looked over and saw her leading a conga line.

You can probably here me say something in the video about her having a big personality. While I was recording her, a woman walked up to me and asked if she was mine. She said she had been watching her and thought she was so cute. That kind of stuff of course makes me beam with pride.

Family Movie Day!

We had a fun family day recently where we headed out to the movies with the girls. We stopped at Panera first for some lunch. I love the area where our little movie theater is. Panera is right next door and super convenient. I can't wait for the movie Inside Out to come out so I can take the girls but I think I'm equally excited to eat the below again.

The girls got to split this beauty. Yum!
Can you believe Daniel has never gone to the movies with the girls and I? He usually prefers for me to take them because he doesn't like paying for his admission since he won't really enjoy the movie. We watched the movie Home this time and he said he didn't think it was too bad. I LOVE taking the girls to the movies. I love everything about going to the movies and look forward to seeing many, many more with these two and maybe we'll even bring daddy from time to time.

March Of Dimes Walk!

My work supported a local March of Dimes walk. My entire posse walked the event and really enjoyed ourselves!
I'm a sucker for anything new I can do with my family. You should have heard the crowd when Charlotte walked up and hugged Geoffrey the giraffe. It was "awwwww"!

This guy was a gentle giant and a very good boy. Because our girls were raised with a large dog who let them pull on her ears, hold her face in their hands etc., they don't realize that some dogs are dangerous. While I love that they don't fear dogs, I'm constantly trying to explain that they can't approach without asking the owner first.

Life is so full of rich experiences like this! I want to get out and live life to the fullest.
