Easter Events

This is how Morgan looked when I picked her up from daycare on Friday. She was wearing bunny ears and yelling, "Easter". She was so excited to show me her Easter basket.

I thought the Easter basket her daycare provider gave her was very generous and sweet.

Later that night, Morgan colored eggs.

She admired her handiwork for a long time after they dried.

Another daughter/father dance...

The Easter Bunny had so much fun putting together Morgan's Easter basket!

Daniel had Saturday off but had to work on Sunday so we did some Easter activities on Saturday instead.

The Easter Bunny hid eggs in some pretty funny places.

We went out to lunch.

And went to the dog park too!

Since Mommy didn't have the energy to do a garden this year, Morgan received some little flower kits in her Easter basket. She enjoyed planting seeds with Mommy.

It was a great day! We were supposed to put Morgan's Easter dress on her and do an egg hunt in our back yard but it never happened.

Picking Peaches

I know this isn't the greatest picture but I just had to share. The other evening while Daniel was mowing the lawn and Morgan was playing outside, I decided to thin our peach tree. Last year the main limb broke because it was so overloaded with peaches. After just beginning the task, Morgan ran over and said, "What you doing Mommy?" I replied with, "picking peaches." Morgan said, "Ohhhhhh!" with bright eyes. She was intrigued and started helping me pick peaches. Of course she started to strip all the lower limbs but I couldn't tell her no because she was so cute doing it. She was even making up songs about picking peaches. She was so excited and I hadn't anticipated the level of interest and excitement this activity would create for her. I loved it! To distract her from clearing out all the peaches, I told her to go get her sand bucket so we could put the peaches in it. She enthusiastically said, "Okay Mommy, I go get the bucket and help!" Love, love, love discovering how much more Morgan can comprehend and do as she gets older!

Mountain Visit

Frank and Dusty's house is extra beautiful this time of year!

The boys got a big kick out of using a fart machine to make Morgan laugh.

I absolutely love it when Morgan puts her hands up to her mouth and giggles!

Papa was nearly crying at one point because he was laughing so hard.

Aunt Dusty let Morgan splash in the pool.

She got just a tad wet!

Take note of her 5th outfit change of the night.

Crazy Chase had us all laughing!

He kept doing trick jumps as he dove into the pool with full gear.

Recent Random Stuff

Because the weather has been so nice, I've been coming home, opening up the backdoor and letting Morgan play outside while I cook dinner. She'll swing for a good 20 minutes at a time. I think it's relaxing for her. Listen to her version of Twinkle Twinkle Wittle Star.

This same day, I realized I hadn't seen or heard her in awhile so I checked on her. I found her sprawled out in the grass with Maggie eating pretzels.

Morgan has been accessorizing. Her favorites lately have been hats and boots.

It's so cute because she'll put on her bracelet, a pretend coat and purse and then say, "Bye. I go to work." Below, she grabbed her computer and pretended to type away.

One night she got creative with her painting and added peas to her artwork.

My initial reaction was to get on to her but then I took a step back and decided she wasn't hurting anything and it was actually pretty creative. She placed all the peas within a hand print she made.

Miss Hollywood

Daniel and I had to hear about the fact that Maggie chewed this bucket over and over again. We're still hearing about it days later.

Daniel's Dream Come True!

There may be a budding Blues musician in the family.

Go Yankees!

Daniel, Morgan and I went up to the mountains to watch Cousin Chase play a baseball game.

He did really well! Below is a picture of him scoring a run.

Morgan entertained herself by handing rocks to Aunt Dusty.

And she kept Chase fueled for the game by sharing her goldfish crackers.

She got some Aunt Dusty love.

And some Chase love too!

Tot Time

I just learned about this class at our zoo called Tot Time. Kids ages 18 months to 5 years get to go to the zoo for an hour long class. Daniel and I took Morgan on Saturday. Fittingly, the theme for the day was giraffes. Morgan got to hear a story about a giraffe, she learned cool things about them and got to touch an actual giraffe skull, neck bone and fur.

As part of a craft project, Morgan painted brown dots on this giraffe.

She got to pet a real turtle.

And she fed the giraffes too. Actually, Daniel and I fed the giraffes because she was a little frightened this time.

After our class, we took a leisurely stroll around the zoo.

There's this area in the zoo called Dino Dig. Kids get to use tools to uncover a dinosaur fossil. Morgan wasn't a big hit with the other kids because she preferred to cover up the bones instead of dig them up.

Morgan LOVED the petting zoo! It was a lot of fun!

It was a beautiful, relaxing day. It was warm with a nice breeze. I was trying to capture the gorgeous day with the below picture. The zoo was just extraordinarily nice this day.
