Summer Beach Vacation!

While training to own our own store, we managed to sneak away for two days straight to partake in our annual summer beach trip.
On the drive there, I had been unsuccessfully trying to record Daniel belting out to a song on the radio when I accidentally caught him and I laughing. He had just realized I was recording him and thought it was funny.
We were having a lot of fun enjoying each other's company during the drive. The girls were cracking me up because we had some classic rock blasting while we were driving on this crazy winding road leading to the ocean and the girls were in the back shrieking like they were on a thrill ride! The were giggling and shrieking with elation. I'm not going to lie, I had some awful visions of them as teenagers going on a joy ride together in their new car after getting their driver's license. I already very much disapprove but it was fun listening to them have so much fun.
The first thing we did when we all spilled out of our car after arriving to our hotel was to just go sit and soak
in the ocean.
Morgan was making herself at home.
One of the things I love about Cayucos is these succulents that you find growing EVERYWHERE. I'm trying to grow some at my house right now.
It was lunchtime so we walked across the street to grab some yummy vacation food!

We got a round of little personal pie heaven!
And then it was back to the hotel to get our bathing suits on!
While changing in the hotel room, Morgan found a bug. She was thrilled and I was inwardly freaking out a little. Staying in hotels makes my germaphobe side come out. I think I get that from my mom and I'm sure I'll pass it on to my kids, lol!

Charlotte's happy place is playing in the sand!

And Morgan's happy place is in the water, specifically, the water's edge.

Unfortunately, it was unusually cold that afternoon. Not long after arriving, Charlotte retreated under this blanket in my chair. There's actually a kid under there!
I really don't know how Morgan lasted so long playing in the water! I guess it's her love of the ocean.
Daniel headed back to the hotel room with Charlotte while Morgan and I hung out for while longer and then eventually she headed back in too. I took the opportunity of solitude with the ocean and some wine to do some really cold relaxing but relaxing none the less!
This was my view. Not too shabby!
Eventually I joined my family inside the room for an evening of pizza and tv. We kept our sliding glass door open to listen to the waves crash while I also took a long nap.
