Vacation Adventure 2011 - Travel Day #1

Daniel, Morgan and I took a 2 week vacation to the Midwest this year to visit family. It felt so good to have some time off and to spend that time with family!

Morgan was VERY excited about flying in an airplane!

Our trip started with us having to leave the house at 4:30 am to make our first flight on time (we cut it close). It was then followed by 2 layovers and two more flights, and ended with a rental car trip to Kokomo, Indiana! Morgan did GREAT! She had been asking to go on the plane numerous times a day every day for a week straight.

It worked out great because we were able to take a little plane for the first leg of the trip which meant that we actually walked up to the plane, and climbed stairs to enter it. I was a little nervous that the loud engine and sheer size would frighten Morgan but she climbed the stairs all by her self and had a look of amazement on her face. She loved the whole flying experience! She flew when she was 9 months but obviously doesn't remember it.

The second leg of our trip was the long 4 hour one. She started the flight by reading the in-flight magazine and listening to the in flight music on her pink headphones her daddy bought her. She was acting like she was 12 instead of 2 and a half. She's ridiculous! :)

She then spent the rest of that flight taking a nap. Her easy going, laid back personality (most of the time) really makes me nervous about what our next child is going to be like. That's right! I said it! We're pregnant again! Now that we've told Daniel's family in person I think we've finally told everyone and I can finally start talking about it. Don't get me wrong because I'm so beyond excited to have a second child but I think that Daniel and I may be in for a little shock because we're so used to Morgan who is admittedly pretty easy (most of the time :)). Either way, I'm ready for the ride and can't wait! Stay tuned for much more about our 2011 family vacation!

Independence Day Celebrations

We kept our celebrations simple

with traditional treats

including my annual peach cobbler made from peaches from our backyard.

Morgan seemed to enjoy watermelon much more while eating it in her swimsuit outside.

I love her baby face in these photos.

She was so laid back while enjoying the rest of her snack. Did I mention it was well over a hundred degrees here on the 4th?

Morgan was a lot of fun this year while doing fireworks. She especially enjoyed throwing the little things that pop when they hit the ground.

Morgan's Accomplishment

For the past few months, Morgan has been participating in gymnastics. She went from being timid in her first class to often being used as an example by her teacher.

Grandma Irwin got to attend one of her classes.

Nana, Papa, Aunt Dusty and Cousin Chase also came to watch Morgan.

Every Saturday morning, Morgan would get really excited because she knew she was going to Little Gym. She'd talk about all the fun stuff she was going to do the whole car trip to class.

Her favorite part of class was when she got to run around and play with the bouncy balls.

I just loved watching her interact and learn new things.

During their last class, each child was called up to the front to recieve a certificate.

I'm sure this is just the first of many proud moments for her and us!

I had some cute video to add too but Blogger won't let me for some reason.

Storyland!

Daniel and I took Morgan to a park here in Fresno that has lots of activities for families! First we fed some geese and ducks.

Daniel had a following.

Sweet Morgan!

Next we took her to this amusement park just for kids her age.

We thought for sure she wasn't going to be okay with going on this ride alone but we couldn't have been more wrong. She loved it!

We got there right when the park opened so we didn't have to wait in line for any rides! Morgan excitedly ran from ride to ride. She surprised us because she was fearless!

We had so much fun watching her enjoy herself!

Daniel was impressed that she liked this rollercoaster.

Morgan asked to go again on the Tilt O' Whirl right as they finished but poor Daniel didn't think he'd make it through another round.

A duck and her ducklings joined us for a paddle boat ride.

We enjoyed a picnic.

I caught Morgan's face right as we entered a tunnel on this train ride.

She insisted that she get down herself so Daniel and I patiently waited as it took her a few minutes to manuever getting down.

Next we visited this area that brings Fairytales to life.

After the park, we headed up to Aunt Dusty's house to visit with cousin Chase, Nana & Papa.

We ended our beautiful day with a nature walk. I absolutely loved this day!
