Maggie's Birthday!

Morgan had been asking me if we could throw a birthday party for Maggie so one weekend day that's just what we did!
Charlotte helped me bake a cake for Maggie!
Maggie was trying really hard to tolerate me putting a tiara on her head and taking pictures. She acted like I was punishing her. Poor puppy.

Maggie LOVED her cake! It was really cute watching her eat (devour) the one and only slice we gave her. We never give her people food so this was a big treat.
Can you see her tongue below? She licked it at first as if she was tasting it. She's a good girl!
We ended her special day with a trip to the park for the whole family.

We love our Maggie so much. She really is such a great dog! We know we're so lucky to have her in our lives.

Makings Of A Fairy House!

For awhile now, Morgan has been obsessed with fairies and fairy houses. Everywhere we go she collects things to put inside her fairy house. I was so impressed when I walked out one day and saw her collection. It was beautiful actually.

She and Charlotte have built many of the houses completely on their own. It makes me so happy to see her being creative and imaginative. So much better than sitting in front of a screen all the time!
I bought Morgan some fairy house making goodies for Christmas. I'm excited to see what she creates!

Saturday Morning Farmer's Market!

Our city is pretty cute! One day this summer we headed downtown early on a Saturday to refill our fruit and veggie basket.
Daniel took some time to teach Charlotte how to look for cars before crossing the street.
The downtown city streets are filled with antique shops. Man, those stores bring back memories of my grandma's house and antique shopping with my mom.

We sampled some delicious fresh squeezed orange juice.
We always have to pick up some fresh local milk. Our favorite is strawberry. We return the bottle to get a discount each time.
Our goodies. They lasted maybe a day and a half.
This kid's art never ceases to amaze me.
We spent some of the rest of the day playing games.  It's really hard to teach a 3 year old patience during Memory but she did a pretty good job.

Common Can Be Oh So Good!

It's not uncommon for Charlotte to come in the house after playing with chalk outside looking like this.
And it's not uncommon for Morgan to draw pictures like this. They always bring a smile to my face.

Fishing With Papa!

We made a trip up to Nana and Papa's house! The girls loved sleeping in the same room together.

Nana played tea time with them.
And Papa took the girls fishing for their first time.
Daniel and I tagged along too.

Morgan helped Papa catch a fish!
This was as close to it as she'd get. She stood there and Dad stuck the fish in the picture lol.

Pretty much every time we visit, we make a run to Texas Roadhouse to get ribs to go. They are sooo good!
And Nana makes sure they get whatever desserts their little hearts desire. Isn't that what grandma's are for?

The girls have actually been talking a lot about this fishing trip lately. I didn't think it was that big of a deal for them because their interest in it lasted for maybe 15 minutes but Charlotte keeps asking when Papa is going to take her again. While working on this post, Morgan excitedly talked about the fish she caught and was talking about how much fun she has at Nana and Papa's house.
It had been years since I'd been fishing and I forgot how relaxing it was. Papa and I took over the girls poles after they lost interest and everyone had a hard time pulling me away. I could have sat out there all day. Being in nature is always so therapeutic for me. I need to find ways to get out there more often. Papa and I definitely need to plan a fishing trip in his boat!

Ages 3!

Three year old Charlotte at daycare. I know I'm bias but she looks so sweet.
As I've mentioned a few times, she has this little confident strut that I can't get enough of.
Daddy's bike lesson was successful!

Little Girl, Big Hair!

I wonder if my hair was ever this shiny. Lucky kid. I think both Daniel and I were trying to document Charlotte's hair because we knew her first haircut was right around the corner.
