I discovered there was a fish hatchery not too far from us and thought this would be a fun summertime outing.
We brought stuff for a picnic first. There were HUGE red ants under our picnic table but we made it through lunch unscathed.
Daniel taught the girls about the life cycle of a fish at a fish hatchery.
We fed them fish food you could purchase for a quarter.
Our next stop (which turned out to be 30 seconds down the same dirt road as the fish hatchery) was this awesome restaurant!
They had it set up like it was on the beach and it turned out to be so much fun! We had dinner here.
My girls and I!
The girls were thrilled with their sno cones!
We happily spent more than 4 hours at this place! The Cubs game was on so we just sat back relaxed and enjoyed some adult beverages. The girls stayed entertained with the sand and beach vibes. I was so impressed that Daniel enjoyed it as much as he did. He kept saying how great he thought the place was.
I mean really, is this place not awesome! This is going to have to be a summertime tradition.
We only played in the sand that was in the shade because the other sand was HOT!
Laid back relaxing...
Take note of the foothills in the background of this picture.
As silly as it sounds, this place felt like a little resort. They did a great job with the set up.
What a great way to spend a summer day. Love my family outings!
