Cat Haven!

We just discovered this place near where we live called Cat Haven! They are a conservation/educational place that houses rare and large cats of all kinds.
We've taken this drive a few times headed to places like my company's annual picnic and it never gets old.
 It is beautiful!
We waited in the gift shop for the next guided tour.
 Daniel tickled Charlotte.
Morgan was wearing sandals but I thought boots were a better choice for our hike through the mountains. I desperately need to go shoe shopping for her. Her feet have gone through another recent growth spurt and very little still fits her. She's wearing size 8T now.
Daddy helped Morgan see the cats while I toted Charlotte around in her sling.
See how close we got to be? AND we were the only ones on the tour. We got to take our time, ask as many questions as we wanted and go at our own pace.
Look how our tour guide is petting this Cheetah! We got to hear it purr! While talking about the Cheetah, Morgan felt it pertinent to add that she liked Cheetos.
This guy was my favorite! He was a beautiful Jaguar.
He was looking at Morgan. This wasn't just our imagination either. Our guide says they always stake out the smallest person in the group. Don't worry, I made sure this place was completely legit and safe before going :)
Check out the tiger behind us.
We all loved this place! Daniel said that we'll have to take any Midwest visitors here because it really was a great and unique experience. It was a treat to get to see these creatures up close with our own personal tour guide.
After the tour was over, the guide asked which cat was Morgan's favorite and she responded, " the kitty cat." After all those rare and amazing creatures, the domesticated house cat still wins out with her.
Yay for family outings!

  1. I'm so glad you guys were able to have a family outing today! And, I'm even more excited you all enjoyed it so well. I was a little worried with it being spring the place might be crowded. When we went, there was still snow on the ground so we too got a personal guided tour.
I love Morgan's dress and hat, and am adoring Charlotte's new "Pebbles" hairstyle.

  2. LOVE the Cheetos comment, LOL!! She looks awesome in that hat, too. Very cool to be so close to those animals. Although I don't know about petting it lady. I mean, I guess she's got a spare hand...
