Father's Day 2010!

Daniel had Father's Day weekend off and we enjoyed every minute of it! Friday, I had a girl's night out which involved dinner, drinks and a movie. Saturday we went to a party thrown for some family friends we hadn't seen in years and Sunday was great! Morgan and I took Daniel to a Blues Music Festival here in Fresno.

But first Daddy opened Morgan's present to him. She made this beautiful picture of her feet at daycare.

We truly had a great day! Daniel kept saying what a good day he was having.

I was a little leery that the Blues Festival wouldn't be enjoyable because I'd be chasing Morgan around the whole time but that wasn't the case. In true laid back Morgan style, she just chilled and played on our blanket the whole time. We were able to enjoy the music for 4 hours before Morgan started to get tired.

Daniel and I both realize how lucky we are to be her parents.

Time Together

Daniel had this Saturday off. It's extremely rare that we get a day off together. Daniel usually works Saturday and Sunday and I work Monday through Friday. It's really hard to find time to do stuff together because one of us is either rushing off to work or exhausted after a full days work. We're both okay with this situation for now because it means Morgan is only in daycare at most 2 and half days a week.

Surprisingly, Daniel got this Saturday off without asking. At first I thought we should make the most of that time by visiting the zoo or doing something we normally don't have the time to do but then we realized that it would be nice to have the whole day to relax together without having strict time lines to adhere to.

We were able to wake up slowly, have breakfast around 10 am, lounge around the house until about 4 pm when we finally made it out of the house. Our first stop was to this really nice area in Fresno that has a play area, restaurants, movies, shopping, etc. We only let Morgan play for a while before heading to dinner.

We didn't stay too long because it was really hot and Morgan has extremely fair skin!

Daniel and I shower Morgan with attention and often times we'll even find ourselves staring at her during meals, etc. I enjoyed the fact that during our dinner out I actually kept forgetting Morgan was there because Daniel and I were so engrossed in good conversation and good food. I know it's good that Morgan isn't always the center of attention and she's able to witness her mom and dad enjoying each other's company.

Sunday, Daniel didn't go to work until 4 pm so we made the best of that time too with more fun in the sun. We're getting good use out of our $5 pool.

Not Our Finest Moment

Before having Morgan, I told myself that I wouldn't be one of those parents who let their kids run around in only a diaper and do whatever they want. What I'm finding is that no matter how hard you try there's just times that it's going to happen!

Swim Class & New Big Girl Seat!

Morgan is in her first swim class. She was of course extremely observant her first time. She still had a huge smile on her face though. The below pictures were of her second class and she's already started to really participate.

A couple of weeks ago, Daniel and I finally purchased Morgan a new car seat! Great choice Irwin ladies, thanks! She really likes it and I'm happy that we did this before it got super hot because now hopefully she can get more airflow.

Enjoying Our Home

Most of our weekends together are spent enjoying time at home.

Sunday, we ventured into the backyard for water fun!

Little ones are always so cute in their bathing suits.

Morgan is also increasingly enjoying playing with Maggie. Poor, poor dog :(

Maggie is a good sport MOST of the time.

Our usually hesitant little girl surprised us the other day when Daniel turned on the sprinklers for the first time this summer. If I had known this was going to happen I would have put a swim diaper and swimsuit on her.
