Farmer's Market!

Daniel and I have enjoyed attending the local farmer's market here every summer. We picked a day this year early in summer when it was still semi cool (in the 80's).
On a side note, I started doing this cute hairstyle on Charlotte. I've learned how to hide the bobby pins better since the below pic. I think it looks darling on her.
Off to the market we go!
Every time I look at this picture, I feel bad we didn't buy her anything from this place. She just looks so sweet standing there looking at the colorful girly stuff.
Morgan used to dance to the live music too but I think she's getting to that age where she starts to get too embarrassed to dance in front of so many people.

In hindsight, I should have moved her from that extremely dirty spot she was sitting on but what are you going to do?! Life moves fast with kids and if they're hungry and you're holding multiple plates and drinks with no where to sit, you just improvise!

Look at them looking and smiling at each other! Precious.

Blurry but great!

They had these big clear balls that you could climb into and walk on water in the ball. It was awesome! They both wanted to try it but Charlotte chickened out while attempting to climb into the ball. I don't blame her. I think I would have felt claustrophobic too. Morgan did it though and had a blast!

They had these huge stuffed animals that you could sit on and ride. The girls loved them.

I didn't think Charlotte was going to be able to operate the animal ride but she hopped on and zipped around like she's been driving her whole life! It was fun to witness.
I think this summer event is going to be a very fond memory for the girls. I know it already is for me.

Breakfast With Mom!

Since I started my new job in late January, I really tried soaking up one on one time with Charlotte before she started school

We've enjoyed breakfast out and about with just she and I, and quiet weekday moments at home too!
She's good at helping me run errands too. She'll just talk and talk.
I had to add this below picture of us at Starbucks because it shows all her baby teeth. Unbeknownst to us she would start losing these baby teeth a few weeks after this picture was taken!

Summer Garden!

Our gardens always start with a trip to Lowes or Home Depot to purchase plants. The girls excitedly run around looking at all the flowers and asking a billion times if we can buy some. In addition to veggie and fruit plants, I always try to get some hanging plants to hang outside during the long days of summer.

She really wanted to take one of these doggies home. It didn't happen.

I was surprised by how helpful the girls were with the shovels. Charlotte was really into it and was seriously helping dig the holes until her plastic shovel broke. It was the saddest thing to witness because her face just crumbled. She tried to recover and enjoy other things like playing in the dirt but she was just too heartbroken and decided to retreat inside. Morgan had a blast finding rocks and playing with bugs.

Summertime!

 Smores with leftover peeps!

I enjoy watching Morgan do art. She really gets into it and seems to lose herself in it. Take chalk for example, she uses self learned techniques to get different effects from the chalk. She'll draw on the cement with it and then use the edge of her hand to smooth out the lines and lastly lean down and blow the excess chalk away. It's like watching a seasoned artist create little masterpieces.
Look at Morgan's creation below. She placed her fairy garden under the rainbow.

Fruit! We never have too much fruit. It's a staple around here.

It's a shame we get so little rain but we try to make the best of it when we do.

Adorable Morgan in her choir uniform!
Summer is flying by.
